A systematic, tried-and-tested method is the best recipe for a succesful, durable floor
Have you tried painting a concrete floor with a cheap DIY kit, only to find it peeling soon after?
Properly grinding the concrete with a diamond grinder is essential for a strong bond, which prevents lifting or peeling. We use specialist grinders attached to Class-M vacuums to minimise dust.
This part of the process is certainly noisy, so ear protection is mandatory, as are respirators.
We match the colour of the base coat with your choice of flake. We use epoxy because it has plenty of working time before it cures, which ensures a perfect foundation for your floor.
It has an extremely strong bond with well-prepared concrete, so it's perfect for bearing heavy loads or hot tyres.
If you choose a flake coating, we use PVA flakes, imported from the USA, which we broadcast over the base coat. The texture is a little like orange peel. and is very grippy. There is almost no limit to the combination of colours you can choose.
The glossy finish that gives the floor a "wow" factor. We use a polyaspartic topcoat instead of epoxy resin because it is fully UV-resistant, and will not yellow. It is just as strong as epoxy, as well as being water, oil and chemical-resistant. Some customers opt for a second topcoat for a smoother finish.
We can complete most garages in two days, but if time is of the essence we can also provide a 1-day service. The floor can be walked on after 24 hours and heavy objects, such as cars and furniture after 72 hours.
If a cluttered garage is holding you back, we've got your covered. We'll arrange for a trailer to be delivered to your home and empty out your garage. Once the floor is ready, the trailer is unloaded and taken away It's also a great opportunity for a clearout!
Because of the quality of materials we import from the USA, the fact that we insist on doing every job properly and never cutting corners, and we pay our staff properly, we are very expensive. You'll be looking at investing £3,500 for a 2-car garage.
